Dear wife
I wrote to you the 20 of last month and got no answer as yet which leaves me uneasy not hereing from the childrn or how the ware getting along in the shincough. Also I rec'd a letter from you dated 20 of January and on that same day I rote and send you in the letter a receite of 10 dollars that could be got at the Mayors of Boston which I thought if you got the letter or the money that you should write if the children was not very sick. Tell Mary to be a good girl and I will be home to see her in March with the help of God.

Dear wife
I feel happy today to able to writ to you hoping this will find ye in good as this leaves me in at present thanks be to God for his blessing to us all. I mean to let you now that I have been very sick this last four weeks but thank be to God I am able to walk round now. I sent a resegnation in for furlow and I have got no ans. as yet; but if I do I shall put it back till after the next pay. So as swoon as you receive this letter writ to me for I want to here from the [Children] avery week and avery day if possible. Remember me to Mary and Marthur and tell Margrit that I told her not to be coughing. I hope also that Johnny is a good boy.

I main to let you now that the wether is very bad her so far as snow and rain every other day which [---] very hard to get along in this part of the country for thur is no roads whatever to travel on. I also could send you some money in this letter but as long as you did not write I thought I would not send any until I get the answer of this letter. Let me now if you get 12 dollars a month from the city yet and let me now if Martin stops with you and give him my best respect and also Mary Keegan and Margrit and Elton Keegan. Also remember me to the inquiring friends. No more at present from your affectionate husband.
