The Forum of Domitian was begun by the emperor Domitian in the early 80s CE and completed by his successor Nerva in 97 CE. It was long and narrow, and stood at the center of the series of Imperial Fora near the main Roman Forum. At one end, there towered a temple to Minerva, Domitian’s patron goddess, whose values he co-opted for his program of moral reform. At the other end, there stood a shrine to Janus Quadrifrons, the god of crossroads.
