Dear wife and children
I am writing those few loynes to ye hopine that it will find ye in good health as this leaves me at prsts thanks be to God for His blessing to me. Dear wife this is my last letter that will go from me for som tim but all the letters that will be sent to me I can Red. them. I am leaving here today and do not now my destination. But however we war told that we could not send any more letters for some time. Remember me to Mary and Marthew and little Margery and tell her that poppa is gon of South. I hope Johnny is in good health. I suppose he won't now me when I go home

Dear wife
Those few loynis is to sertify the arrangement that was made in camp this morning. The Mayor of Chelsey was her and acording to the lay which the have past we have don it as long as we could not get our pay from the coverment. Now I for won is going far away and I sind my name for you to get 15 dollars of my pay at the Sity Hall of Roxbury which will come [due] the first of May, Commencing the first of March and every two months and till the war is over or till I goe home you will get 15 dollars every two months along with your state pay so I hope you will see to it and all that I can do for the children afterwards I will do it.

I have not much time to writ today for we are all packing up today. Write to me when you feel like it and I should be happy to here from you and the little ones.
Give my love to all the family and inquiring friends
By concluding those few loynis I write my love to you your truly and affection husband
