Dear daughter
I feel happy today as it is Sunday to have time to sit down to ans. your letter. Thanks be to the Lord that you and your mother and sisters and brother is in good health as the departure of this leaves your father in at present thanks be to God for his blessing to us all.
Dear Mary
As long as you are so good a girl and improving in your writing I send you $2.00 dollars to boy a pair of boots for the winter and tell Marthure it she write me a letter I will send her $2 more.

I main to let you now that we are in the sam camp that I wrote to ye last and don't seem to be going to leave it right away although a few days ago we ware all ready to leave but however we don't now the minute. But dear daughter not be uneasy about me for with the help of God He will spear me to see ye once more as long as he protected me through all the battles of those two and a half years past.
I wish you would let me now if you got a picture that all the battles is printed on for I have sent you one and paid 1 dollar for it and if you got it get it framed.

I have not much more to say at present but give love to mother and Marthur and Margret and Johnney and also to grandfather and all the frend.
