7th Century BCE- Estruscan Style buildings on site of Regia Constructed

497 BCE- First Temple of Saturn constructed

484 BCE- Temple of Castor and Pollux dedicated

210 BCE- Regia Rebuilt after fire

148 BCE- Regia Rebuilt after fire

 

121 BCE- Temple of the Concord Built

169 BCE- Basilica Sempronia built

2nd Century BCE- Temple of Castor and Pollux restored

 

46 BCE- Julius Cesar erects the Rostra (speaking platform)

Julius Cesar dedicates the Basilica Julia where the Basilica Sempronia once was

36 BCE- Regia Rebuilt after fire

55-34- Construction of the Basilica Aemilia

29 BCE Temple of deified Julius Cesar constructed, Curia Julia completed

 

14 BCE- Fires destroyed much of the forum

Circa 14 BCE- Temple of Castor and Pollux rebuilt

12 BCE- Basilica Julia rebuilt and rededicated by Augustus

9 BCE- Fires destroyed much of the forum

Temple of Concord destroyed

 

10 BCE- Temple of Concordia Augusta constructed  

6 AD- Temple of Tiberius and Drusus dedicated on site of what once was the Temple of Castor and Pollux

64 AD- Fire destroys part of the Forum

80s AD- Temple of Vespasian and Titus constructed

Circa 113 AD- House of the Vestal Virgins completed

140 AD- Temple of deified Faustina constructed

Early 3C AD- Julia Domna rebuilds the Temple of Vesta

3rd Century AD- Temple of Vespasian and Titus restored by Severan dynasty

203 AD- Temple of Septimius Severus built, Arch of Septimius Severus, Caracalla and Geta built 

283- Fires again destroyed much of the forum

360-380 AD- Temple of Saturn reconstructed

Circa 377 AD- Basilica Julia restored

630 AD- Curia transformed into a church for St. Hadrian

15-16 Century AD- The forum was left largely abandoned except for the looting of precious materials

19th Century AD- Select excavations of the forum begin

1898-1910- Excavation of the Forum continues

1980-88 AD- Conservation of some monuments undertaken
