Dear wife and children
I sit down with pleasure to write those few loynes to ye hoping it will find ye in good health as the departure of this leaves me in at present thanks be to god for his blessing to us all. I main to inform you that I got a letter from you a week ago and gave me great comfort in hereing that you and the children was all well and in good [health] You must excuse me for not ans your letter before this. I would, only we expected to move every day but now there is no sine of moving this month, and I hope nut, for the weather is very hot here at present. But our duty is not hard at present for all we have to do is to go on pickett 2 days in the week and we have only one mile to go for our camp is only one mile from the river. And also I main to give my oppinion about the times here. Now I think there is no danger of a battle in this month although the papers does not read so. But I hope that there wont for it would be hard for a woonded man to live with the heat of the weather.

Dear wife
I main to let you now about the ten dollars which you got the first of June. We ware paid 2 months pay in May and there was 15 and 33 cts stoped out of the 2 months for the close we got from the State of Mass when we first come out and the balance of that was $10 and 67 ct which you ought to get. We expect to get 2 months more pay in a few days and as swoon as we will be paid I will write. And when you will get the next pay you will get the 67 ct which the kept from you before.
Give my love to Mary and Marthure and Margrett and Johnney. I hope to God that ye will enjoy your selfs until I see ye all once more.
Give my love to Martin and John and Family and remember me to Michael Tarphey
