Dear wife
I received a letter from you 2 weeks [ago] but had not time to ans. it untill today. I hope those few loynes will find you and the children in good health as the departure of this leaves me in at present thanks be to God for his blessing to us all. I also main to let you now that I have got a letter from Mary which I feel happy that she is such a good writer. And I hope the Lord will keep her in good health untill I see her and all of you.

Dear wife
I have not much to say to you at present for I have not time to mention about our difficulty this last 3 weeks. But thank the Lord that I am in good health and hope to see ye once more. Give my love to Mary and Marthur and Margrett and Johnney and tell Margret that I will send her a new years present. Also remember me to Martin and John Keegan and all the girls. No more at present from your affectionate husband
