Dear daughter
I sit down to write those few loines to you hoping it will find ye all in good health as the departure of this leave me in at present thanks be to God for his blessing to me.
Dear Mary
Today is thanksgiving day and I thought as long as you did not write to me this last month I would drop a few loines to you hoping that you have a good [time] today as I felt very uneasy not hereing from

ye since the 30 of Oct.
I hope you will ans this and let me now was their any trouble or sickniss in the house. Give my love to mother and Marthur and Margritt and also to Johnny hoping his a good boy and stays in of the streets.
I have no more to say at present but I remain your truly father
