The main structure visible today consists of a large square base, a cylindrical drum smaller in diameter enveloped by the base and rising above it, and medieval structures on the top that surround the original central tower.1 The model shows the architectual relations of these components without the medieval additions. The section diagram includes the upper portion of the tomb that has been turned into a papal palace with many rooms.
